What I See

In this photo is see how slavery was still alive in Mississippi even though the slavery system had been ended. The old man seems to be in his 60's and is standing prominently in front of several of his laborers. The old mans foot is confidently set up on the bumper of the car as he's talking to a man barely in the picture. The workmen are waiting, in a submissive position, for orders from their boss which point to the racial and class differences of that time.

Why I Write

I write when I need to clear my mind and help organize a busy day.  When I am angry or sad I write to express my emotions that I shouldn't say in certain moments so writing helps to calm me down. Writing poems and short stories helps keep my writing sharp. Writing helps remind me that teaching creative writing is what I wish to do in the future and making sure that I stay on that path.
